Compassionate, Experienced And Qualified Professional Caregivers For The Elderly

Quality of care starts and ends with the calibre and character of the people who deliver it.

We are proud to offer personal, considerate, round-the-clock service by a cheerful, cooperative and highly professional team of caregivers who find personal reward in helping residents to live safe, secure and fulfilling lives in a BriarGate ‘home away from home’.

Our People Make The Difference

The BriarGate caregiver team has specialised training and solid experience in the demanding field of caring for elderly men and women who suffer from diminished mental faculties and reduced physical capabilities.

Led by our Facility and Clinical Manager, our people are rostered to provide 24-hour, seven-day attention to each resident’s individual needs.

We only select staff who have the notion to really care for the elderly in practical and emotional matters. Our staff enjoy their caring.

Eating Well - a Priority For The Elderly Here at BriarGate Dementia Care

BriarGate features hygienic, well-equipped kitchens and dedicated dining areas.

Our trained cooks prepare varied, healthy and nutritious menus of meals and snacks. Residents may choose to eat breakfast in their own rooms, on the deck or patio, or with staff and other residents in the dining room.

Lunch is the main meal, and relatives/friends are welcome to partake of a meal when visiting – although we would appreciate prior advice for catering purposes.

Special Diets

We cater for residents with special dietary needs or preferences. BriarGate works closely with dieticians to develop appropriate diets for individual residents.

Tea & Coffee

Visiting relatives and friends are encouraged to make and share a “cuppa”. Just ask the cook or a caregiver.

North Shore Elderly Day Care and Respite Care Services for Alzheimer's and Dementia Sufferers

Day Care

Our Day Care Service, available 7 days a week, introduces the person suffering from Alzheimer’s or Dementia to BriarGate professional care in a gentle, sensitive and step-by-step manner, starting with one to two days per week and then more if needed. The next step to short-term respite care comes naturally, as a way to give Carers longer breaks.

Transport Services

We provide a pick up service only from Mondays to Fridays around 9AM apart from Public Holidays. During day care, your loved one makes new friends, enjoys our activity program, morning and afternoon teas and a hearty, healthy cooked lunch.

Respite Care

Respite for people with chronic disabilities can result in fewer hospital admissions for acute medical care, extended at-home residency and even improved physical and mental health. Carers for relatives with dementia who use respite care tend to experience lower levels of caregiving-related stress, better personal and family well-being and improved caregiving capability.

At BriarGate, we offer a highly flexible short-term/respite care service that can be custom-designed to cater for individual needs and circumstances. Stay periods can range from one or two days to a week, fortnight, month, or longer. Your loved one will be welcomed into a safe, secure, comfortable and friendly caring environment while you take time out for your family, business, regular job, personal interests or a relaxing and refreshing getaway.

Simply tell us what you need in the way of a single respite period - or a regular respite schedule - and we'll make it happen. Both you and your loved one will feel better for the experience.
